8 players share lead in Magadh University Inter-College chess tournament

Patna, September 10, 2009:
Eight players shared the lead at the end of second round play with two points each in the Magadh University (MU) inter-college chess tournament at the TPS College hall here on Thursday.

Vijay Kumar (TPS College, Patna), Vikesh Nandan (BS College, Danapur), Sindhu Shekhar (AN College, Patna) and Rakesh Kumar (College of Commerce, Patna) were among the leading players, who won their first two round matches easily.

Forty-one players from 11 colleges of the Magadh University have been taking part in the tournament for selecting a six-member MU team for the All-India Inter-University chess tournament.

Dr Baban Singh, principal, TPS College inaugurated the tournament. Dr RK Mishra, organising secretary welcomed the guests while Dr Arun Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
