BTTA mourns the death of TTFI general secretary Mool Chand Chauhan

Patna, September 11, 2009:
Bihar Table Tennis Association (BTTA) expressed deep grief at the demise of Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) secretary general Mool Chand Chauhan, who died at Jaipur in early hours on Friday after prolonged illness.


Chauhan (83) who was suffering from Caneer breathed is last at S.K.Soni Hospital at Jaipur. He is survived by his three daughters.

In a joint statement, BTTA president Sanjay Singh (MLC), and BTTA secretary Mukesh Roy said that in the death of Chauhan, India has lost a seasoned sports administrator and organizer, who served different sports bodies for over 40 years. “It's a great loss to Indian table tennis”, they said.

BTTA members convened a meeting at Bihar Young Men’s Institute to express their shock and pay tributes to departed soul. Mahadev Prasad Yadav, KM Sinha, Amitabh Sinha, Prem Kumar Singh, Rajiv Ratan Singh, Arvind Kumar Singh, Papiya D Gandhi, Neeta Roy, Ashim Chakraborty, Rahul Das and Chulbul Das were among others who attended the meeting.
