BAI applauds Supreme Court’s decision on the go ahead on Premier Badminton League

New Delhi, December 16, 2015: The Premier Badminton League (PBL) is cleared of all hurdles as the Supreme Court today quashed High Court’s Stay Order levied on PBL. The PBL will now kick-start on 2nd January, 2016 in Mumbai where the League will bring together India’s top badminton players along with international players on the same platform.

Speaking on the decision by Supreme Court, BAI President and PBL Chairman Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta stated: “Some vested interests were against the spirit of the game and they have been trying to create hurdles. The recent issue raised by them was totally baseless. The Badminton Association of India (BAI) didn’t even know of any such details. We are grateful to the honourable Supreme Court, who has always supported the right and in this case also, it has favoured us by quashing the stay order.
