Players take out Aakrosh march for government jobs

Patna, April 19, 2017: Hundreds of players took out protest march (Aakrosh march) to draw the attention of the government on the lackadaisical attitude of the general administration department for not releasing the list of selected players for government jobs.

The state government had launched a scheme a few years ago to provide jobs to medal winners and talented players in different government departments.

The scheme had worked for two years and after that players did not get appointments despite applying for the job.

Players under the banner of Bihar Players Association (BPA) took out procession from Patliputra Sports Complex and the rally culminated into a meeting at the Moinul Haq Stadium.

BPA president Mritunjay Tiwari alleged that the Bihar government's general administration department officials had thrown the scheme in to a cold bag.

He alleged that the general administration department recently held meeting with players' representatives but nothing positive came out from the meeting.

He said BPA would soon chalk out further action plan to press for the genuine demands of the players.
