IOA secretary general meets Sports Minister of Uttrakhand Arvind Pandey


New Delhi, March 31, 2017: IOA secretary general, Mr. Rajeev Mehta today met newly elected sports minister of Uttrakhand Arvind Pandey to discuss preparations and the groundwork required ahead of the National Games 2018 which is scheduled to be held in Uttrakhand. The games are proposed to be held in the capital city of Uttrakhand Dehradun and in city of Haldwani

Mehta said "I am in touch with the sports department and government of Uttrakhand on a regular basis and we are reviewing the situation and all the arrangements that need to be taken care of. So far the preparations are going well and in today’s meeting I had a detailed discussion with sports minister and he assured me that entire infrastructure would be ready in time. I am hopeful and confidence that Uttrakhand will deliver the best games.”

The newly elected sports minister of Uttrakhand Arvind Pandey said "We are working on the infrastructure required to host the national games in 2018 and there is a lot of scope of development in the field of sports in our state. We have one year to go for the games and I am sure our government will conduct the games successfully.” 


Sports Minister of Uttrakhand Mr. Arvind Pandey was accompanied by Mr. Balraj Passi, former member of parliament from Uttrakhand.
