Madhya Pradesh scored the opening goal through penalty corner
converted by Shyama Tickadam in the 4th minute. In the 35th minute Haryana
leveled the score through penalty corner converted by Navneet Kaur.
With the regulation period ending in a 1-1 deadlock, the
extra-time was enforced and in the fifth minute Jyoti Gupta scored a field goal
which helped Haryana to win this match.
Earlier, Jharkhand defeated Punjab
6-0 to claim bronze medal.
Goal scorers for Jharkhand were own Goal (19th min),
Punam Madhuri Tete (22nd min), Rajni Soreng (31st min), Etwari Mundu
(40th and 49th minutes) and Alka Dung Dung (66th min).
Jharkhand dominated the proceedings from the start of the
game and also they looked the better drilled outfit with a lot of character and
composure while Punjab committed far too many
errors that put them on the defensive for much of the match.
