Bihar struggle to hold Chhattisgarh in hockey




Patna, September 13, 2012: Bihar struggled hard to hold Chhattisgarh 1-1 in the opening match of the 64th East Zone senior national hockey championships at the BMP-5 ground here on Thursday.

Bihar opened the account in the 4th minute through Alok struck off a penalty corner. Md Shamshad leveled the score for Chhattisgarh in the 10th minute. Both the teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first half.

Only few a minutes of play was possible in the second half as rains stopped the play. Both the teams collected one point each.

Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (BMP) Abhay Kumar Upadhyaya inaugurated the tournament.
The tournament has been organised by Bihar Hockey Association, an affiliated body of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF).
