A six-way tie for the for the top spot was the outcome at the end of the day as six players Rajkumar, Vijay Kumar, Devbrat Singh, Saurabh Roop, Rakesh Ranjan and Minhazul finished their final engagements with 7 points each.
Progressive points were taken into account to decide the top four positions and the tickets to represent
Vijay Kumar got the second spot while Devbrat Singh bagged the third positions. Promising Saurabh Roop earned the fourth spot. Minhazul, however, finished sixth with 7 points and progressive score 33.
In the boys’ under-7 category, Janamejay was declared champion while Piyush got the title in the U-8 section. Garima Gaurav won the title in the girls’ under-7 category while Manya Diptam claimed the crown in the U-9 section.
All Bihar Chess Association president and principal secretary, department of planning (Government of Bihar), Vijay Prakash gave away the prizes.
