Grand double for Asmita Ravi

Patna, October 29, 2010: Asmita Ravi of St Michael’s High School won the sub-junior and junior girls’ singles titles of the BB Yadav memorial inter-school table tennis tournament at the Bihar Young men’s Institute here on Friday.

Sudarshi Singh of Litera Valley clinched the cadet girls’ singles title.

Meanwhile, in the boys’ section, Aditya Umang, Ayush Adarsh, Aman and Kumar Utkarsh reached singles semi-finals.

In the boys’ team championship, Patna Central School ‘B’ entered the semi-finals beating St Michael’s ‘B’ 3-1.

Results: Sub-junior girls’ singles final: Asmita Ravi bt Varsha Bhagyasri 11-7, 11-8, 11-5. Junior girls’ singles (final): Asmita Ravi b Ankita 11-7, 11-7, 11-7.

Cadet girls’ singles (final): Sudarshi Singh bt Tanishka 12-10, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6.

Cadet boys’ singles (quarter-finals): Aditya Umang bt Ayush Anand 11-5, 11-6, 11-8; Ayush Adarsh bt Risutosh 11-9, 11-8, 11-6; Aman bt Sagar 11-8, 11-8, 11-6; Kumar Utkarsh bt Yogesh 11-6, 8-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8.
