Adamya, Shweta capture tennis titles

Patna, October 29, 2010: Adamya Vikrant of Bihar clinched the boys’ under-16 singles title of the AITA ranking tournament beating his team mate Vaibhav Kumar 6-0, 7-6 in the final at the Patliputra tennis court here on Friday.

Shweta Kumari Ojha won the girls’ U-16 singles crown defeating Sivana Zaidi (UP) 6-4, 7-5 in the final.

Other results: Girls’ under-16 doubles (final): Shweta Kumari Ojha & Madhu Jaiswal (Bihar) bt Sivana Zaidi & Yogita Kumari (UP) 6-4, 6-4.

Boys’ under-16 doubles (final): Vaibhav Kumar & Ishank Ravi (Both from Bihar) bt Adamya Vikrant & Venkat Siddharth (Both from Bihar) 3-6, 6-4, 10-5.

Kunal Aikat, chief coach of Bihar Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA), distributed the prizes.
