Patna Central School all set to host Senior National throwball championships






Patna, December 26, 2011: Stage is set for the 34th Senior National Throwball championships beginning at the Patna Central School ground here from December 27.

Throwball Association of Bihar (TAB) secretary Neeraj Kumar Pappu said 6o teams (30 men and as many women) would take part in the three-day premier tournament.

On the occasion of Bihar’s centenary year, Throwball Association of Bihar (TAB) and Acharya Sudarshan Sports and Cultural Foundation are jointly organising the four-day meet, he said.

Pappu said state teams from Delhi, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Goa, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Utrakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala had reached the venue.

Other state teams would be reaching here by Tuesday morning, he added. Teams would get their boarding and lodging facilities on the Patna Central School campus while officials would stay in different hotels of the State Capital.

Paapu said Bihar Information Technology and Minority Welfare Minister Shahid Ali Khan would inaugurate the championships at 2:00 pm on Tuesday. Acharya Sudarshanji Maharaj would be chief guest in the inaugural function. Throwball Federation of India chairman Naresh Maan would be the special guest, he added.
