Patna, November 27, 2011: Saiqua Parween of Bhojpur won the women’s singles title of the 60th Bihar state table tennis championships beating Dipali Sarkar of Patna 11-6, 16-14 and 11-8 at the Bihar Young Men’s Institute here on Sunday.
Rohit Kumar of Madhepura bagged the cadet boys’ singles crown defeating Ayush Anand (Patna) 12-10, 12-10, 9-11, 11-8.
In the other matches, Naman Kumar, Zunaid-ur-Rehman, Any Raj, Kishan Raj, Samir Chakarborty and Piyush D Gandhi entered the men’s singles quarterfinals while Naman Kumar, Lekh Raj, Piyush D Gandhi and Yash Trivedi moved into the youth boys’ singles semifinals.
Amit Kumar, Naibaid-ur-Rehman, Aditya Umang, Rohit Kumar, Tushar Kanti, Prashant Raushan, Ayush Anand and Gagan Nir all stormed into the sub-junior boys’ singles quarterfinals.
