Media Cup table tennis from July 20

Patna, June 23, 2010: Strawberry Kids Play School Media Cup table tennis tournament will be held at the Bihar Young Men’s Institute (BYMI) here from July 20, according to Sports Journalists Association of Bihar (SJAB) secretary Pradeep Modak.

He said singles and doubles events in men and women sections would be organized in the championships. Interested mediapersons may contact SJAB secretary for entry and other details by July 15

BMP boys post lone goal win over BSEB

Patna, June 23, 2010: BMP Boys notched up lone goal win over Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) in the Patna Football Association super division league at the New Police Lines ground here on Wednesday.

Both the teams were locked goalless in the first half. Md Sarfraz netted the match winner in the 70th minute.

BMP boys rally to beat Railway Football Club

Patna, June 21, 2010: BMP Boys chalked out 3-2 win over Railway Football Club (RFC) in the Patna Football Association super division league at the Patna High School ground here on Monday.

BMP Boys were 2-1 up in the first half.

Dhananjay Kumar placed BMP Boys into the lead in the 25th minute (1-0). Ajay Singh equalised the lead in the 40th minute (1-1).

Md Raquib netted the second goal for the BMP Boys in the 44th minute (2-1).

After the breather, Md Shahnawaz made it 3-1 in the 60th minute. Pankaj Kumar Singh reduced the margin for Railway men in the 70th minute.

In the second match at the New Police Lines ground, Patna Police struggled to beat Police boys 2-1. Both teams played 1-1 in the first half.

Manoj Kumar Singh netted the first goal for Patna Police in the 13th minute (1-0). Sonu Kumar equalised the lead in the 17th minute (1-1). Brajesh Kumar netted the winning goal in the 57th minute.

Raj Milk win Sadbhavana Cup football

Patna, June 20, 2010: Raj Milk Football Club won the Kingfisher Sadbhavana Cup football tournament demolishing Bihar State Electricity Board (BSEB) 5-0 in the final at Gandhi Maidan here on Sunday.

Raj Milk shot into commanding 3-0 lead in the first half.

Raj Milk Football Club took the command from the very start of the match and scored goals at their will.

Raj Milk captain Md Shahid opened the account in the 13th minute (1-0). Raj Milk’s Nigerian striker Uzoma netted the second goal in the 19th minute (2-0). Md Shahid scored again to make it (3-0).

After the lemon break, Raj Milk swelled the margin through Md Shahid in the 73rd minute (4-0). Viplab Dhar made it 5-0 in the 78th minute (5-0).

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) national general secretary and newly elected Rajya Sabha MP, Ram Kripal Yadav and manager of Kingfisher, Bihar and Jharkhand, MEA Usmani jointly gave away the prizes. Mirtunjay Tiwari, president, RJD, Sports Cell welcomed the guests.


Rajendra Prasad Yadav, secretary, Patna Football Association, former Bihar Santosh Trophy player Jwala Prasad Sinha, state panel cricket umpire Manoj Kulmani, RJD youth leader Pintooji and Sunil Kumar were present at the prize-distribution function.
