Shree Krishna, Meenal clinch tennis titles

Patna, January 18, 2013: Shree Krishna of Bihar tamed his sparring partner and statemate Ritwik Bhriguvanshi 6-2, 7-6 to win the boys’ U-18 singles title of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) Talent Series Tournament at the Patliputra Colony court here.

Meenal Maharwal of Rajasthan downed Madhu Jaiswal of Bihar 6-2, 7-5 to win the U-18 girls’ singles crown while Madhu Jaiswal beat Priyam Kumari of Bihar 7-6, 7-5 to win U-16 crown.

 Boys’ U-18 singles (final): Shree Krishna (Bihar) bt Ritwik Bhriguvanshi (Bihar) 6-2,7-6.

Boys’ U-18 doubles (final): Shree Krishna (Bihar) and Ritwik Bhriguvanshi (Bihar) bt Anshumat Shrivastav (Bihar) and Adarsh Anand (Bihar) 6-1, 6-2.

Girls’ U-18 singles (final): Meenal Maharwal (Rajasthan) bt Madhu Jaiswal (Bihar) 6-2,7-5.

Girls’ U-18 doubles (final): Manisha Sahani (UP) and Sitara Sahani (UP) bt Sonal Sristi (Bihar) and Priyam Kumari (Bihar) 6-4, 6-1.

Boys’ U-16 singles (final): Elan Elangoven (TN) bt Anshumat Shrivastav (Bihar) 6-7, 6-3, 6-1

Girls’ U-16 singles (final): Madhu Jaiswal (Bihar) bt Priyam Kumari (Bihar) 7-6, 7-5
