Shruti meets Sripriya in U-18 singles final

Patna, October 19, 2010: Bihar’s Shruti Jaiswal set up title clash with her state mate Sripriya Sarraf in the girls’ under-18 singles final of the AITA talent search tournament at the Patliputra colony courts here on Tuesday.

In the battle for final slots, Sripriya tamed Richa Sirohi of Uttar Pradesh 6-1, 6-2 while Shruti blanked Ana Upadhyay 6-0, 6-0.

Satwik Roy Sinha of West Bengal and Devpriya Jaiswal of Bihar entered the semifinals in in the boys’ under-18 singles. Shree Krishna (Bihar), Aman Baruah Das (Assam) and Yash Raj Sharan (Bihar) moved into the boys’ under-14 semi-finals.

Boys’ under-18 singles (quarterfinals): Satwik Roy Sinha (WB) bt Adamya Vikrant (Bihar) 6-3, 4-6, 7-6; Devpriya Jaiswal (Bihar) bt Aditya Sharma (Delhi) 6-3, 6-2.

Boys’ under-14 singles (quarterfinals): Shree Krishna (Bihar) bt Ayush Raman (Bihar) 6-0, 6-1; Aman Baruah Das (Assam) bt Basu Jaiswal (UP) 6-3, 6-4; Yash Raj Sharan (Bihar) bt Anshumat Shrivastava (Bihar) 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2.
