Devpriya to play Siddharth for title

Patna, October 7, 2010: Devpriya Jaiswal of Bihar struggled hard to down Parikshit Somani of Assam 7-6, 7-6 in the U-16 boys’ singles semifinals of the AITA ranking tennis tournament at the Patliputra Colony courts here on Thursday.

Now, Devpriya will play Siddharth Vishwakarma of Uttar Pradesh for title. Siddharth beat Amartanjay Kumar (UP) 6-4, 6-4 in the other semifinal.

Results: Boys’ U-12 semifinals: Parikshit Somani (Asm) bt Nitin Kumar Sinha (WB) 6-2, 7-6; Shree Krishna (Bih) bt Sanoj Kumar (Bih) 7-6, 6-4.

Boys' U – 12 doubles: Parikshit Somani (Asm) & Nitin Kumar Sinha (WB) bt Abhimanyu Rozra (Har) & Ritwik Bhriguvanshi (Bih) 6-3, 6-3.

Boys’ U – 16 doubles: Devpriya Jaiswal (Bih) & Adamya Vikrant (Bih) beat Venkat Siddharth (Bih) & Anish Anupam (Bih) 6-2, 6-1.
