Easy wins for seeded players in Bihar chess

Patna, August 12, 2010: Seeded players faced no troubles to win their respective first round matches in the 34th Bihar State women and 38th Junior Under-19 chess championships at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Thursday.

Earlier, Vijay Prakash, principal secretary, Planning Department, inaugurated the tournament.

Results:

Women: Pallavi (Bhagalpur) beat Priya Rani (Patna), Soumya (Muzaffarpur) beat Arati Kumari (Kishanganj), Komolika Chakraborty (Kishanganj) beat Pinki Mehta (Patna), Smita Choudhary (Muz) beat Manya Diptam (Patna), Smita Kumari (Kishanganj) beat Mona Priya (Patna), Nibha Ranjan (Patna), beat Vibha Sinha (Patna), Minki Sinha (Patna) beat Nirmala Srivastava (Chapra), Pummi Rani (Patna) beat Priyanka Kumari (Gaya), Shristi Gautam (Patna) beat Rita Mehta (Patna) and Saraswati Kumari (Kishangnaj) drew with Jyoti Singh (Patna).
