Patna, March 8, 2010: Captain Prabhat Kumar took four wickets as Patna moved into the final of the Bihar Chief Minister Cup cricket tournament defeating Bhagalpur by five wickets in the first semi-final at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Monday.
Batting first, Bhagalpur could manage to score 113 runs off 35.4 overs. In track where balls were keeping low Prabhat took the advantage of the situation with his wicket to wicket deliveries.
Anand (29, 3x4), Chandan (10, 2x4), Raj Kumar Devnath (15, 2x4) and Shekhar Anand (18, 1x6) were useful contributors. Anant Prakash took claimed wickets for 23 runs. Gopal and Vivek got one wicket each.
Chasing 114 runs for victory off 40 overs, Patna lost five wickets of Prabhat Kumar (15, 3x4), Kabir Sanyal (15), Amalesh Kumar (16) for 62 runs on the board. An unbeaten sixth wicket stand of 52 runs between Deepak Kumar (23 not out, 1x6) and Dilip Kumar (18 not out) piloted Patna to reach final.
