Dwarika High School and BMP-5 Camp Jail School win ball badminton titles


Patna, February 25, 2010: Dwarika High School boys clinched the State-level ball badminton championships title beating SS School, Nalanda 29-25, 29-16 at Miller School ground here on Thursday.

BMP-5 Camp Jail School won the girls’ crown defeating Dayanand Girls School, Mithapur 29-12, 29-24.

Kundan, Kameshwar, Prakash and Rupak played well for Dwarika School while Navalesh, Nishant and Manoj excelled for Nalanda.

In girls’ final Annu, Sweeti, Neha and Urmila displayed their mettle with good services and effective returns for the winners while Pragati, Sonali and Mamta showed their talents for the losers.

Former chairman of Bihar Legislative Council, Professor Arun Kumar gave away the prizes. Krishna Kameshwar of Dwarika School and Navalesh of Naland were adjudged star players of the tournament in the boys’ section. Annu Kumari, Urmila Kumari (both from BMP-5 School) and Neha of Dayanand School were adjudged star players in the girls’ section.

Earlier, Dwarika High School, Mandiri and SS Vidyalaya, Nalanda moved into the final. Mandiri school boys chalked out 29-5, 29-6 victory in the first semi-final while Nalanda beat BMP-5 Camp Jail 29-12, 29-18 in the second semi-final.

Dayanand Girls School, Mithapur set up title clash with BMP-5 Camp Jail School in the girls’ final. Mithapur girls defeated Ghaneshwari Balika Vidyalaya, Danapur 21-29, 29-21, 29-9 in the first semi-final while BMP-5 Camp Jail School got the better of Ghanshyam Balika Vidyalaya, Khagaul 29-5, 29-13 in another semi-final match.
