East Champaran take on Patna in Bihar Chief Minister Cup cricket final

Patna, March 9, 2010: East Champaran will take on Patna in the Bihar Chief Minister Cup cricket tournament. In the second semifinal, East Champaran prevailed over Samastipur by two wickets at the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday.

Winning the toss was not so lucky charm for Samastipur as they lost nine wickets for only 66 runs. The last wicket pair Pradeep Kumar and Sudhir Kumar put on an unbeaten partnership of 26 runs to take the score to 92 at the end of allotted 40 overs.

In reply, East Champaran too struggled to get in the required runs off 27.3 overs for the loss of eight wickets.


Brief scores: Samastipur: 92 for nine wickets in 40 overs (Brajesh Jha-13, Pradeep Kumar-28 not out, Sudhir Kumar-17 not out, Ravi Kumar-3/16, Sunny Kumar-2/28, Rajeev Ranjan-3/14).

East Champaran: 93 for eight wickets in 27.3 overs (Harpreet singh-10, Sikandar Sahani-13, Ravi Prakash-28 (4x4) not out, Sudhir Kumar-3/17, Sumit Kumar-3/25, Sanjeev kumar-2/35).
