Improving on our penalty corner conversions and defence, says Manpreet Singh

New Delhi, September 25, 2015: Being confident for the upcoming New Zealand Test Series, the India Men Hockey Team is geared-up to take on the kiwi challenge. Slated to take place from October 2 to 11, the Indian Men Hockey team is looking forward to the upcoming clash that the series is all set to throw at them.

Shouldering responsibilities in a crucial position of centre-half, the talented mid-fielder Manpreet Singh is seen enormously adding value to the Indian team with his excellent capability of controlling the ball controlling in the D and which helps facilitate the team to capitalize and score goals. He is also considered as a very potent weapon for producing attacks on penalty corners and successfully provides a link between forward line and defense.

Speaking ahead of the much awaited New Zealand Tour, mid-fielder Manpreet Singh said: “We have prepared a lot for the upcoming New Zealand tour and we are pretty excited about the tournament. The coach is also making us work a lot harder during our preparations helping to improve on penalty corner conversions and our defence”.

“We are working on rectifying our mistakes as we would not want repeat them in the upcoming tournament. Playing in the opponent’s home ground- New Zealand will be a tough challenge for us but we are confident of a positive result,” he added.

India and New Zealand A will be playing their first match on 2nd October 2015 in Auckland.
