However, Bihar men failed to repeat the feat of their women counterparts losing to Delhi 9-15, 5-15 in the final. This was Bihar women's first title win in Senior National championships.
In the hard-line match, Delhi women prevailed over Chandigarh 15-8, 15-4 to finish third. Madhya Pradesh men outplayed Goa 15-1, 15-6 to get the third position.
The day’s proceedings began with the semifinal matches in the men’s section. Delhi trounced Goa 15-2, 15-4 and Bihar tamed Madhya Pradesh 15-11, 15-9 to set up final clash.
Bihar Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister Dr Sukhda Pandey was the chief guest in the final and she gave away the prizes.
Earlier, renowned classical dance group led by Professor Chittaranjan Sahini and Sangeeta Sahu presented scintillating Odishi dance sequences to mesmerise the spectators.
Patna Central School (PCS) vice-chairman YK Sudarshan welcomed the guests while Throwball Association of Bihar (TAB) secretary Neeraj Kumar Pappu proposed a vote of thanks. Bihar Players Association president Mritunjay Tiwari, Throwball Federation of India chairman Naresh Maan, TAB president SB Prasad, PCS principal SP Singh, vice-principal OP Singh were present on the occasion.
