Hamid played much of his hockey in Calcutta (as Kolkata was then known) for
Mohammedan Sporting, Mohun Bagan and Bengal Nagpur Railway (which is now South
Eastern Railway). In the National Championship, he played for Railways, forging
a formidable combination with the likes of Balbir Singh, Gurbux Singh,
Harbinder Singh

prays for strength for Hamid's family which lives in Monibala outside
Sainyar Gate in Jhansi .
