Navin, Sandhya claim Bihar carrom titles

Patna, February 7, 2011: Navin Arya of Chapra emerged Bihar men’s singles carrom champion. In the final Navin bounced back after conceding the first game to defeat Neeraj Kumar of Patna 9-21, 20-16, 16-11 in the 21st Bihar state and inter-district carrom championships at LIC hall here on Monday.

Sandhya Sinha won the the women’s singles title beating Guria Rani 0-21, 18-5, 21-12. It was a tough fight for Sandhya in the final as Guria won the first game at 21-0. But experience Sandhya Rani captured the second and third games.

Sudhanshu Shekhar, marketing manager, LIC of India Patna branch, gave away the prizes. Bihar State Carrom Association working president Ravi P Sinha welcomed the guests. Dr Sanjay Kumar, president, Patna District Carrom Association, proposed a vote of thanks.
