Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat begin campaign in style

Patna, February 3, 2014: Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Gujarat began their campaign on winning notes on the opening day of the 29th All India Post Table Tennis Championships at the Patliputra Sports Complex hall here on Monday.

In the women’s team event, defending champions Gujarat led by Divya Gohil won their first round match with great comfort and élan. Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh also won their opening matches.

However, hosts Bihar men crashed out of the team event losing their consecutive two matches in pool C on the opening day.In their opening match, Bihar suffered 0-3 defeat against Madhya Pradesh while in their second match Tamli Nadu got the better of Bihar 3-1.

Earlier, G Bhuian, chief postmaster general, Bihar, inaugurated the tournament.
