AA Infotech tame Tata Indicom
Batting first Tata Indicom collected 129 for the loss of nine wickets off 20 overs. In reply, AA Infotech reached the target off 15.4 overs losing seven wickets.
Alok Sahay of Tata Indicom, who took five wickets for 36 runs, was declared man of the match.
Abhijit (33, 4x4, 1x6) emerged as the top scorer for Tata Indicom. Kaushal (28, 2x6), Praveen (15) and Sudhir (11 not out) were other notable contributors. Sharique Ahmed and Lav Kumar bagged two wickets each for 12 and 21 runs respectively.
Lav Kumar was the architect of AA Infotech victory. He scored 42 runs with five hits to the boundary and three over it. Kumar Kislay (38, 4x4, 2x6) and Raaj Kumar Raja (21 not out, 1x4, 1x6) were the important scorers. Alok Sahay captured five wickets for 36 runs.

BSNL volleyball from February 2
Patna, January 23, 2010: Patna will host All-India BSNL volleyball tournament at Telegraph Recreation Club court from February 2 to 6, according to PN Jha, chief PRO, BSNL Bihar Telecom Circle.
As many as 20 circle teams would take part in the tournament which would be organized under Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) rules, he added.

Hard-fought win for Tata Indicom
Bating first Tata Indicom collected not so healthy 95 runs off 18 overs. Amit Singh struck 20 while Abhijit Singh made 13 runs. Sumit, Sanjay and Rakesh bagged two wickets each for Frontline. In reply, Frontline could made 93 off 15 overs. Rehan and Shekhar scored 16 runs each. Abhijit Singh, Ravi and Sudhi claimed two wickets each.
In the day’s other match, Accord Engineers put up a challenging 245 for 7 off 20 overs. Mukesh (74) and Rajesh Choudhary (63) contributed well with the bat. In reply, MTS were all for 92 runs. Rajesh Choudhary took four wickets for 14 runs.
In the first match Abhijit Singh (Tata Indicom) was adjudged man of the match while in the second match Mukesh Kumar (Accord Engineers) was declared man of the match.

CAB Telecom Cup begins; Airtel lose first match
Patna, January 12, 2010: Defending champions Airtel began their title hunt on a disappointing note losing their first match in the second CAB Telecom Cup cricket tournament at the outer ground of the Moinul Haq Stadium here on Tuesday.
Infotech outplayed Airtel by 64 runs. Earlier, in the first match, runners-up Aircel recorded easy five-wicket win over Accord Engineers.
Batting first, Accord Engineers made 140 for seven wickets off 20 overs while Aircel raced to the target losing five wickets off 19.4 overs.
Infotech put up decent 197 for five wickets off 20 overs with half centuries coming from the bats of Kislay (51) and Amalesh Kumar (57). In reply, Airtel could manage to score 133 for the loss of nine wickets off 20 overs.
Amlesh Kumar (Infotech), who scored 57 runs and claimed three wickets for 27 runs was adjudged man of the match while in the second match RK Diwedi (Aircel), who scored 42 runs, was named man of the match.
Earlier, Manoje Nath, Director General, Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA), and former India under-19 cricket team captain, Amikar Dayal jointly inaugurated the championships.

Bihar girls win two National carrom titles
Bihar sub-junior and junior girls won team championship titles at the Sub-Junior National and Junior National carrom championship at Jeevan Deep Educational Institution, Varanasi, recently. The championship was held from December 27 to January 1, 2010.
According to information reached here, about 1500 boys and girls had participated in the tournament that was hosted by Uttar Pradesh Carrom Association. Three tournaments, 37th Sub Junior National and Inter-State Carrom Championship along with 38th Junior National and 17th All India Federation Cup for seniors were organized.
In the junior boys’ National, Hyderabad annexed the team championship title while Maharashtra and Assam were placed at 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Bihar lost to Chandigarh in the quarter-finals 1-2.
In the sub-junior boys’ National, host Uttar Pradesh clinched the team championship title while Manipur and Chandigarh were placed 2nd and 3rd respectively. Bihar lost to Manipur in the quarter-finals 1-2.
In the 37th Sub-Junior National and Inter-State Carrom Championship, Bihar girls defeated strong contender Tamil Nadu 3-0 in the semi-final. In the final Bihar beat a spirited Bengal 2-1 to win the title.
In the 38th Junior National and Inter-State Carrom Championship, Bihar girls defeated Chandigarh 2-1 in the semi-final while in the final Bihar outplayed host Uttar Pradesh 2-1 to win the crown.
