Milan and Piyali win Ganga river swimming titles

Patna, November 6, 2011: West Bengal’s Milan Haldar and Piyali Adak won the 13.5-km Ganga river swimming championships titles here on Sunday.

Earlier, Bihar Labour Resources Minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal flagged off the race at Digha ghat. Milan and Piyali got Rs 10,000 each for their victories. Jayoesh T Bhagat of Pune and Zishan Dhali of West Bengal became second and third in the men’s section. Ojashwi Bannerjee of Jharkhand and Snehal of Pune bagged the second and third positions in the women’s section.

Later, Janardan Singh Sigriwal and MLA Arun Kumar Sinha gave away the prizes. The championship was organised by Bihar Swimming Association.
