CAP crowned Little Champs



Patna, February 1, 2011: Cricket Academy of Patna clinched the Little Champs Premier League U-10 cricket title defeating Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Foundation (RGCF) by a narrow margin of 7 runs at the Cricket Academy of Bihar (CAB) ground here on Sunday.

CAP scored a modest 91 runs for the loss of 8 wickets off 15 overs and then restricted their rivals for 84 runs for 6 wickets off 15 overs.

Prajeet (25) and Basu (20) contributed well with the bat for CAP while Vivek claimed three wickets of 8 runs for RGCF.

RGCF began well but their batsmen floundered down the order. Ayush (29) and Vivek (15) were the notable scorers for RGCF. Shubham took two wickets for 11 runs.

International cricketer and Jharkhand’s latest batting sensation Saurabh Tiwary was the chief guest at the closing function and he gave away the prizes. Bihar Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav, Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Bihar Road Construction Department secretary Pratyay Amrit and BCA ad-hoc committee member Mritunjay Tiwari were the special guests.

The organisers also felicitated Saurabh Tiwary on the occasion.
